The January transfer window has passed the midway stage and Everton are yet to make an addition.
David Moyes has made it clear he wants signings through the door this month as he looks to guide Everton away from relegation trouble.
The Toffees clearly don’t have the attacking quality required having netted the second lowest number of goals in the entire division.
Moyes has placed his faith in Dominic Calvert-Lewin but he really needs to deliver sooner rather than later, otherwise he’ll be dropped.
Beto, though, hasn’t set the world alight either and with Armando Broja injured for the next few months, it’s evident the club should look to bring in another number nine in the remaining couple of weeks of the window.
Evan Ferguson has been linked to Goodison Park but there’s so far been no progress made on that deal – which would be a loan.
There’s also talk of Lyon’s Ernest Nuamah making the switch to Everton but again, it’s a transfer that’s dragging on.
Now, the Toffees have just been handed a fresh blow in their pursuit of a Premier League target, as he edges close to signing for a European club.

Everton’s talks to sign Jakub Moder now appear off
It was reported by Caught Offside this morning that Everton were in talks to sign Brighton midfielder Jakub Moder.
The Toffees were looking at landing his signature for a discounted fee, with his contract due to expire at the end of the season.
A £2-3m bid was expected to satisfy the Seagulls but now, according to The Athletic, Moder is set to sign for Feyenoord.
The 25-year-old is in the process of finalising his transfer and is set to sign a three-and-a-half-year deal with the Dutch giants.
So, Everton’s pursuit of the ‘classy’ (per Albion Analytics) midfielder appears to be off.
Everton should prioritise attacking reinforcement
Everton really don’t need to bring in a central midfielder this window.
With Orel Mangala, Idrissa Gueye, Abdoulaye Doucoure, James Garner and Harrison Armstrong all capable of operating in the number eight role, it’s evidently an area that doesn’t need addressing as an urgent matter.
Funds should be allocated towards a winger and striker first and foremost, so the collapse of the Moder deal certainly isn’t very detrimental.
Everton are operating on a limited budget this month, so they must prioritise positions to strengthen.
