Major Ernest Nuamah breakthrough from Everton sources after positive talks

Everton are closing in on their first signing under The Friedkin Group.

With no win to their name in the Premier League this year, David Moyes has landed back on Merseyside requiring improvements to his inherited squad.

It is apparent where Everton’s issues lie as they go into this weekend’s clash against Tottenham Hotspur as the second-lowest goalscorers in the league.

However, attacking reinforcements are on the mind at Goodison Park with The Friedkin Group targeting a new forward.

And TBR Football’s Chief Transfer Correspondent Graeme Bailey has now shared the latest to Everton News on the pursuit of Ernest Nuamah.

Everton confident of signing Ernest Nuamah

Everton sources have insisted the Friedkins are now confident they have won the race to land Nuamah from Lyon this month.

It is believed Nuamah has already approved a possible move to Everton with the two sides locked in talks.

And Bailey’s sources have suggested the latest round of talks have gone extremely well, which has provided the owners with real confidence of securing a deal.

Everton showed interest in Nuamah last summer, but saw their move for the winger hijacked by Fulham.

Now just months on from what was a true disaster of a proposed transfer to London, Nuamah could finally be set to make his move to the Premier League.

Nuamah will have to prove himself in England

By no means would signing Nuamah provide Everton with an instant fix going forward, given his record in France.

The 21-year-old has struggled this season for Lyon and would certainly arrive at Finch Farm with a point to prove.

However, Everton fans have not been impressed with Jack Harrison on the right wing so far this season.

Kevin Thelwell has pushed for the signing of Nuamah this month after missing out on the winger last year.

Nuamah has been praised as a ‘terrific’ talent with plenty of potential by Target Scouting, but the Premier League will offer a whole new challenge.
