Everton are expected to sign a striker this summer.

David Moyes has been ‘fixated’ on signing a number nine since the January transfer window, as he wants to upgrade on Thierno Barry and Beto.

Chelsea frontman Liam Delap has been heavily linked to the Hill Dickinson Stadium, and so too has AZ Alkmaar’s Troy Parrott.

After watching him for England vs Croatia, I’m convinced he’d be the perfect right-back signing this summer! 🔥

Fabrizio Romano drops update on Everton target Ayase Ueda

It emerged last week that Everton have been scouting Ayase Ueda after netting 26 goals for Dutch outfit Feyenoord last term.

The Toffees have been considering a bid for the Japan international, who is reportedly valued at around £30m.

Ueda netted a brace against Tunisia at the World Cup on Sunday and, as such, is attracting a growing list of admirers.

Now, transfer specialist Fabrizio Romano has just reported that the 27-year-old has received approaches from the Premier League, which could well be the Toffees.

“Ayase Ueda could leave Feyenoord this summer with attention growing also after World Cup impact,” Romano wrote on X.

“Approaches already taking place from Premier League and Bundesliga clubs.”

Everton are more than likely one of the unnamed Premier League clubs, whilst Tottenham Hotspur and Leeds United have also been linked.

So, it won’t be an easy deal to complete, as they must pitch an exciting project to Ueda to fend off rival interest.

Ultimately, Everton’s sell this summer must be centred around getting back into Europe next season.
