Fabrizio Romano issues Jack Grealish update ‘despite English rumours’ as Everton lie in wait

Everton will be hoping to make Jack Grealish their second signing of the summer transfer window.

David Moyes will be keen to add more attacking quality to his squad following the departures of Jack Harrison and Jesper Lindstrom.

There were plenty of positives to take from the second half of Everton’s 2024/25 campaign, but there was a clear lack of goals coming from some of their wingers.

Everton are looking to sign new attacking players this summer to really bolster Moyes’ options for the new campaign.

Iliman Ndiaye proved to be a real quality addition last year and the Friedkins will no doubt be eyeing more signings just like him.

It is understood Everton are interested in Grealish, who has been left out of Manchester City’s Club World Cup squad.

As interest grows in the 29-year-old, Fabrizio Romano has shared an update on the Englishman.

Everton handed Jack Grealish boost by Fabrizio Romano

Earlier in the week, some reports suggested Napoli were showing an interest in Grealish, but they were not prepared to pay his wages.

In a fresh update, the Toffees have been handed even better news.

Speaking on his YouTube channel, Romano has claimed Napoli are not actually in the running for Grealish this summer.

“What I can tell you is that, my understanding, between Napoli and Jack Grealish – despite English rumours – in the recent days there is nothing concrete,” he said.

“Nothing serious as Napoli are focused on different targets.”

Pep Guardiola has suggested Grealish will leave Manchester City this summer as he is a player who needs to be playing more regular minutes.

Whether that is on loan or permanently will be decided by any interested clubs who may find it difficult to finance a deal for a former £100m player.

Everton could kick start summer spending with Grealish

It has been a fairly slow start to the summer for the Blues with the final contract decisions still waiting to be announced.

There is an expectation that Dominic Calvert-Lewin will leave Everton at the end of his contract.

It is believed Everton will become busier in the market at the end of June and leading into July.

There is little time to waste for a club that has as much to do as Everton, but the signing of a player like Grealish would certainly be a statement for the Toffees.

Everton hope the new stadium will attract players but landing someone like Grealish would also be a huge factor.
