Everton have lost Jack Grealish to injury and have an eye out for replacements.
The Toffees find themselves in a bit of a tricky spot now, because Grealish is out for the foreseeable, and both Dwight McNeil and Tyler Dibling have been in poor form.
What should be Everton’s top priority before the deadline on Monday? 😬
The clock is ticking… ⏰
Without a doubt, the wide areas of the pitch for Everton are currently quite weak.
Today, it was reported that Everton had shown interest in Luis Henrique, who currently plays for Serie A champions.
As part of that update, it was suggested that Inter would only offload Henrique if they could sign a replacement.
And they have identified one in the form of Moussa Diaby.
And arguably, he is player Everton themselves need to be looking at.

Moussa Diaby could be a great addition for Everton

One thing Everton don’t really have right now is pace out wide.
Grealish is technical and a good protector of the ball, but he will never beat a full-back on the outside for pace. And neither will Dibling, who has a similar style.
McNeil also isn’t particularly quick.
Diaby is definitely a player who doesn’t struggle in the pace department, having previously been clocked as one of the fastest players ever in the Bundesliga when he played for Bayer Leverkusen.
Indeed, another article from the Bundesliga said that Diaby has ‘the capability to shatter land speed records’.
Signing a Jack Grealish replacement is more important now… 🤔
According to Fabrizio Romano, Inter are in talks to sign Diaby on loan from Al-Ittihad, and the player is keen.
Everton need to turn their attention away from Henrique and make a play for Diaby, as he could provide some of the creativity that has just gone out of the team with Grealish.
He’s got three goals and 11 assists in 24 games so far this season over in Saudi. Henrique has managed just one assist in 23 games.
What’s more, Diaby spent a year in England with Aston Villa so does have a bit of a feel for the Premier League.
Everton have been linked with Diaby before
Diaby is actually a player Everton have had eyes on before.
In 2021 it was claimed (via GFFN) that Everton made contact with Bayer Leverkusen to sign Diaby, who was a promising French youth international at the time.

Everton did actually go on to do business with Bayer Leverkusen, but not over Diaby. Instead, the club signed Demarai Gray.
The Toffees also landed Andros Townsend on a free transfer in that window.
