Everton fans were left dismayed last week as news filtered through of an injury sustained by Jack Grealish.
The winger featured in Everton’s 1-0 win over Aston Villa, and played the full 90 minutes.
But days later, Everton announced that Grealish had suffered a foot injury, which left supporters nervous.
Who would you play at left wing in place of the injured Jack Grealish? 🤔
The winger is reportedly facing THREE months out – do Everton need to sign a replacement?
It was then claimed that Grealish was facing a few months out with his injury, which is believed to be a stress fracture.
Everton have still not officially put a time frame on Jack Grealish’s recovery and return from injury, but the feeling is that he will be out for the foreseeable.
And that throws up many questions – with one being how it potentially impacts Everton’s desire to sign him permanently.
Everton keen to pay half of Jack Grealish’s buy option

When Everton signed Grealish from Manchester City on loan, the two clubs agreed on an option to buy clause worth £50 million.
Given the injury Grealish has now sustained and its severity, the chances of Everton paying £50 million to sign the star permanently are extremely slim.
TEAMtalk have now reported on the situation with Grealish in light of his injury blow.
They say that Everton are indeed still keen to sign Grealish permanently this summer. But only if City accept that the £50 million buy option is now unrealistic.
Seemingly, the Toffees will sit down for fresh talks with City over Grealish and look to pay a much lower fee.
TEAMtalk say that sources at Everton have actually indicated to them that the club would be looking to pay around half the original clause, so £25 million.
Currently, there have been no suggestions regarding Manchester City’s stance on the matter.
Surely though, they have to accept that Everton paying £50 million simply isn’t going to happen.

£25m for Grealish would be great business
The £50 million always felt very high and that Everton would be unlikely to trigger it.
Now, there is almost a perfect excuse for Everton not to do that with this injury Grealish has picked up.
But of course, Everton still want Grealish permanently and it would be the right move to push for it.
Would you even pay £30m for Jack Grealish? 🫣
Historically, City have sold players for fairly cheap fees, or fees that maybe aren’t a true reflection of their quality.
So maybe, given Everton paid a fair whack for Grealish’s wages plus a large loan fee, there will be a willingness on City’s part to negotiate with Everton on a lower fee.
£25 million would be great business by Everton if they can reach that particular agreement with City.
With two goals and six assists, Grealish has shown he’s a player who can make things happen and he clearly improves the side.
