Former Everton manager Sean Dyche has now spoken about a potential return to the game amid Graham Potter’s West Ham exit.

Everton return to Premier League action on Monday evening, ironically against West Ham at the Hill Dickinson Stadium.

Potter’s position as the manager in east London has been under scrutiny for a while now following a dreadful start to the season.

David Moyes praised Potter during his Friday press conference at Finch Farm. On Saturday morning, it was announced that Potter had been sacked.

Before the Toffees brought Moyes back to Merseyside, Potter was heavily linked with the Everton job to become Dyche’s successor.

Ironically, Dyche has now been mooted as an option for West Ham and he has now shared his stance on a return to management.

Everton defender Michael Keane has recently hailed Dyche for the work he was able to carry out under difficult circumstances on Merseyside.

The 54-year-old has now been out of work since the start of the year, but he has been discussed as an option to succeed Potter.

Speaking on the Call Yourself a Fan show, Dyche has discussed a possible return to the game after jokingly being linked to the Manchester United role.

“You know, it’s a strange thing football management. The job sort of comes and gets you. You don’t just ring clubs and say, ‘any danger?’,” said Dyche.

“If the timing is right and they want me to come and do it and interview and see if we get it. I’m alright at the minute, I’m quite enjoying watching what’s going on rather than being immersed in it.”

Dyche has also been linked to the Rangers job recently, with Russell Martin already fighting for his future at Ibrox.

It will be interesting to see whether West Ham make a quick appointment ahead of Monday’s game on Merseyside.

Sean Dyche must learn from Graham Potter’s Everton mistake

Back in January, Potter chose West Ham over Everton, and the stark difference between where the two clubs are headed is huge.

Considering Dyche had his own struggles at Everton, he could learn a thing or two from what Potter has endured at the London Stadium.

Of course, Dyche will back himself to turn things around at West Ham, but it has been a miserable start to the season for Potter.

And it would be interesting to see how West Ham fans would take to the potential appointment of Dyche.
