There may well be some disappointment among the Everton fanbase that only two new faces have been added this summer.
Everton have now landed in the United States ahead of their opening Summer Series friendly against AFC Bournemouth on Saturday.
David Moyes may provide Thierno Barry with his debut for the club, after the 22-year-old joined up with the squad earlier this week.
However, it is clear Moyes wants the Friedkins to sanction more signings, having made his feelings known publicly over recent weeks.
“I’m hoping to make more additions in the coming weeks,” said Moyes three weeks ago.
Since then, Everton have signed Mark Travers as a backup goalkeeper, and no other players have landed on Merseyside.
The clock is ticking, but Tim Howard has issued some encouragement to Everton fans with what he knows about the 62-year-old manager.

Tim Howard issues exciting Everton transfer claim
Everton have been handed £100m to spend by the Friedkins this summer, as the new owners look to put their stamp on the squad.
But patience will be wearing thin as numerous Everton players have departed this summer, and Moyes is still left waiting on replacements.
Speaking to the Liverpool Echo, Howard has attempted to ease concerns, with his optimistic thoughts on what could lie ahead in the window.
“The transfer window is so interesting because you want new signings and if you don’t hear anything, then the worry starts to build. David Moyes knows how to work the transfer market better than anyone I’ve ever known,” said the American.
“He does it politely. I know for a fact that the squad needed an overhaul and if you know anything about football, it’s as clear as day.
“To compete for European places, the squad as a whole wasn’t good enough. That needs to change and while I don’t think that can change in one transfer window, you can make big strides towards it.”
Everton are looking to make a statement signing ahead of their move into the Hill Dickinson Stadium later this summer.
Given the finances on offer, the Toffees may have to wait for an opportunity to present itself in the market.
Jack Grealish is of interest to Everton, but a signing like this could potentially drag on into the depths of the window if the player is holding out for a specific move.

Everton need to build on Thierno Barry signing
Adding a player of the potential Barry holds should have been the catalyst for the Blues to kick on in the market.
With creative additions needed to aid Barry’s integration on Merseyside, Everton are plotting a move for Takefusa Kubo from Real Sociedad.
This is the type of signing which would get Everton fans excited ahead of the new season.
But the reality is Everton need both quality and quantity following the free agent departures.
And that is perhaps where the concerns are growing, with the Everton squad still having major holes that need filling ahead of the new campaign beginning.
