Everton have now secured the short-term future of star midfielder Idrissa Gana Gueye.
It has been a summer which has been dominated on Merseyside with contract sagas, but finally Everton have got what they wanted.
David Moyes will be absolutely delighted to see Gueye stay with the club for the 2025/26 campaign after proving a huge asset to the 62-year-old.
Everton held extensive talks with Gueye over the finer details of his contract, with the midfielder demanding a multi-year deal.
The deal has now been secured and Everton have announced the Senegal international will be sticking around for a little longer.
But there was one line in the official club announcement from Moyes which may excite a lot of Everton fans.

David Moyes drops hidden Everton transfer hint
Everton are expecting a huge end to the transfer window, with plenty of work still needing to be done on Merseyside.
Having only added Carlos Alcaraz on a permanent deal so far, it is believed Thierno Barry is set to join Everton in the coming days.
And Moyes will be keen to keep the ball rolling on transfers having made his feelings known in Gueye’s contract announcement.
“We are delighted Idrissa has re-signed. His experience and his knowledge of the Club is going to be so important going forward with the introduction of lots of new players and the new stadium,” he said.
“Idrissa will play a big part in integrating everybody.”
Everton fans were delighted to see Gueye sign a new deal with the club, but it will be well known the work that still needs to be done.
There are holes across the entire squad following the numerous contracts to expire, and the clock is now ticking ahead of the pre-season tour of the United States.

Everton will want new signings to settle in
A massive season awaits Everton, with plenty of changes taking place off the pitch ahead of the first game against Leeds United.
The Hill Dickinson Stadium is expected to attract better players, but Moyes will want to get the new faces in sooner rather than later.
Everton jet off for the Summer Series in the United States at the end of the month, leaving around two-three weeks for any signings to make the trip.
Of course, Everton will not have their business wrapped up before August, but Moyes will surely hope any big signings land in time to give them the best opportunity to settle in.
