Everton are now suffering from a real lack of options up front.

David Moyes will be delighted to see another three points added to the board on Saturday in their victory over Brighton & Hove Albion.

However, Everton’s injury woes were added to with Dominic Calvert-Lewin being withdrawn early on in the game.

Speaking after the victory, Moyes said Calvert-Lewin has suffered a hamstring injury which is causing genuine concern.

And that is not the only striker Everton are nursing on the recovery table with Armando Broja and Yousef Chermiti both out.

Shortly after the game, there was an update provided on the future of the Albania international, Broja.

Everton to keep Armando Broja

There has been a lot of talk as to whether Everton would send Broja back to Chelsea to continue his recovery.

Everton and Chelsea have discussed Broja’s future with the possibility of exchanging his loan for another player.

Quickly after the game, Alan Myers took to social media to share his understanding on the striker’s future on Merseyside.

‘I’m told Armando Broja will stay at Everton to continue his recovery from injury,’ he said on X.

With Everton seeing three of their four senior strikers sit on the sidelines now, a new striker must be viewed as a priority in the market.

The Friedkins were keen to sign a striker coming into this month’s transfer window, but progress has been slow.

Although another victory has been added to the tally, Everton cannot afford to sit still.

How long will Armando Broja be out injured?

Moyes has admitted Everton are discussing Broja’s future but it appears he will be sticking around a little longer at Goodison Park.

After suffering the issue in the FA Cup game against Peterborough United, it was clear the injury was not an innocuous one.

However, the 60-year-old has also claimed the injury is more serious than the club had hoped.

“Not absolutely happening, but his injury is now going to take a lot longer than initially thought,” said Moyes.

“It is one of the options that might be available, but people around the club are talking about it with Chelsea.”
