The Friedkin Group had their eye on one manager in particular for Everton in September, but now he’s being talked about as the potential new boss at AS Roma.
Everton have turned their fortunes around under Sean Dyche after the horror start to their Premier League season, but things have gone slightly downhill in the last two games.
A disappointing performance in the draw with Fulham was followed up by defeat to Southampton at St Mary’s at the weekend.
Interestingly, some Everton fans were calling for Dyche to be sacked after the defeat, with David Moyes being the preferred replacement.
Things aren’t going amazingly well at AS Roma either with their managerial situation far from certain, which has sparked many rumours online.
However, a different manager was being discussed by the Friedkin Group in September, but he’s now being eyed for a potential job at AS Roma.
Friedkin Group discussing appointing Graham Potter at AS Roma
There was an uproar at Roma when the Friedkin Group decided to get rid of Daniele De Rossi earlier on this season, despite him having a better record than Jose Mourinho.
The Friedkin Group’s replacement, Ivan Juric, hasn’t pleased the fans either, and he’s now under pressure after a poor run of results.

We had links to Frank Lampard at Roma earlier on this week, and now there’s another English manager being linked with the Roma job.
According to Calciomercato.com (as per Roma Press), Graham Potter has also emerged as a potential candidate to replace Juric if he ends up being sacked.
Graham Potter’s links to the Everton job
Graham Potter has been out of work since leaving Chelsea in 2023.
Interestingly, the Friedkin Group have already discussed appointing the ‘phenomenal’ Graham Potter at Everton in the past month or so when Dyche was under pressure in the first four games.
However, the upturn in form has quietened things.
Given the unrest amongst some fans in the fan base right now and knowing that the Friedkin Group plan on having a new manager in place for the new stadium, it would be a surprise to see them take away one of their apparent targets for the Toffees and place him at Roma.
