Thursday could mark a significant day in Everton’s 2026/27 season as the club could be lining up two official announcements.

The transition into July marks the start of the new campaign and Everton are looking to set out their intent out.

It has been announced that Everton will reveal their 2026/27 home kit on Thursday, 2 July following their agreement with CMC Markets.

However, that may not be the only announcement being made by the club on Thursday.

Everton have agreed a deal to sign Hayden Hackney, with The Friedkin Group’s first signing of the summer edging closer.

What is the latest on Hayden Hackney to Everton?

As things stand, Hackney is set to become Everton’s first signing of the summer following weeks of club-to-club negotiations with Middlesbrough.

Everton stood firm and it has paid off, with an initial fee of £16.5m believed to have been agreed.

It has now been suggested by Pete O’Rourke that Hackney is set to undergo his medical for Everton on Wednesday, 1 July.

If all goes to plan, that could leave Everton supporters in store for a very exciting Thursday.

Everton could be set for optimism-boosting Thursday

Following a seriously underwhelming end to the 2025/26 campaign, it is only natural that optimism around the fanbase is relatively low.

David Moyes targeted Europe with Everton, yet the Blues blew their opportunity after failing to win any of their last seven games.

Clearly the supporters are in serious need of something to boost the morale on Merseyside and a double announcement on Thursday could do just that.

Everton have secured two lucrative sponsorship deals with Stake and CMC Markets, which will feature on the new home shirt.

After managing to avoid the kit design being leaked, there will be plenty of eyes on Everton’s social media platforms ahead of the release on Thursday morning.

That reveal could well be followed up by the announcement of Hackney, who would be unveiled in the new 2026/27 home shirt.

Recent weeks have not been easy for Everton supporters with very little in the way of transfer activity.

However, announcing the new home kit and the first summer signing on the same day would certainly go a long way to getting supporters back on side.

Taking to TalkingPoints, there were a number of Everton supporters demanding David Moyes to be replaced this summer.

Although there may still be some frustration aimed towards the 63-year-old, some positive transfer news will help ease some of the concerns on Merseyside.
