How much Jack Grealish’s injury will cost Everton in wages, it’s staggering

Everton have suffered a damning blow as Jack Grealish has sustained a stress fracture to his foot.

It was announced on Wednesday that Jack Grealish will be out of action for three months, so David Moyes will be desperate to bring in a replacement this month.

Everton have been considering a move for Harry Wilson, so perhaps that deal could now accelerate following the news.

Who would you play at left wing in place of the injured Jack Grealish? 🤔

The winger is reportedly facing THREE months out – do Everton need to sign a replacement?

Napoli’s Noa Lang has also been linked with the Toffees, but Galatasaray are on the verge of landing his signature.

Anyhow, regardless of who Everton manage to bring in, it’s a far from ideal situation as they’ll have to navigate months without arguably their best player whilst still paying his hefty wages.

Jack Grealish injury will cost Everton £2.7m

According to Capology, Grealish is far and away Everton’s highest earner, as he’s on around £225,000-a-week.

So, with the England international set to miss the next 12 weeks, that’ll cost the Toffees a staggering £2.7m in wages.

To put that number into perspective, that could buy you 45 Seamus Coleman’s, as he cost £60,000 from Sligo Rovers.

Grealish has been an integral part of Everton’s season, as he’s the top assister with six, which is double James Garner’s tally in second.

How many games could Jack Grealish miss?

Well, we’re looking at a return date in mid-April and that may not even factor in how long it’ll take before he’s match fit.

The 30-year-old could be absent for up to 10 matches, with potentially his first game back against Merseyside rivals Liverpool on the 18th of April.

By that point, Everton will only have six games of the season remaining, so it may actually be quite tough to break back into the team.

Clearly, there is a pressing need to sign a winger with just as much quality if Moyes’ side are to qualify for Europe this season.

How good of a signing would this be for Everton? 👀
