Idrissa Gana Gueye sends matchwinner Nicolas Jackson four-word message after Everton’s defeat vs Chelsea

Everton suffered a 1-0 defeat against Chelsea on Saturday afternoon.

David Moyes‘ side fought hard at Stamford Bridge, but Beto’s one mistake was capitalised on by Nicolas Jackson, who scored the winning goal in the first-half.

Moyes was critical of Beto in his post-match interview, with the towering centre-forward failing to make the ball stick before a turnover in possession which led to the goal.

“Beto had to retain possession and he gives it away too easily for me,” the Scotsman said. “And they break and score.”

Idrissa Gana Gueye was seen laughing with Jackson heading down the tunnel at half-time, which may not please the Scotsman, either.

And now, Idrissa Gana Gueye has just sent the Chelsea scorer a four-word message.

Defeat for Everton leaves them in 15th place and it’s becoming quite clear that Moyes will need several additions this summer, especially at the top end of the pitch.

The Toffees have won just one of their last nine games, with the goals now really starting to dry up.

So it was certainly a frustrating weekend for Everton supporters and quite uncharacteristically, Gueye has sparked more anger.

After being spotted laughing with Jackson, the 35-year-old has now praised the Chelsea frontman on Instagram.

Gueye posted a picture with his Senegal teammate and wrote: “Lil bro keep shining.”

Clearly, the veteran midfielder thinks nothing of it, but it’s not the best look and it likely won’t please Moyes.

Gueye yet to commit his future to Everton

Everton have a number of contracts to sort out over the coming weeks, with eight players currently due to leave on free transfers.

Gueye is indeed one of them and it’s understood that Moyes would love to keep him ahead of the move to Bramley-Moore Dock next season.

Everton are preparing to offer Gueye a new deal, so the ball is very much in his court regarding his future on Merseyside.

The Senegal international has been a stalwart under both Sean Dyche and Moyes this term, so he’s certainly earned an extended stay.
