Everton were denied an opportunity to seal three points against Manchester United with a late penalty overturned.
David Moyes was in dreamland as his side took a two-goal lead into the break at Goodison Park.
But it was a second-half nightmare for Everton who saw their lead come undone as United scored twice in the second half.
But deep into added time, Andy Madley awarded Everton a penalty for a foul on Ashley Young.
Mike Dean did not expect Everton’s penalty to be overturned, but that is exactly what happened after a VAR check.
And it seems there may have been an error to occur during the VAR check as Madley watched replays on the pitchside monitor.

VAR error shared for Everton penalty vs Man United
Official Matt Donohue has bad history with Everton fans and it seems that could be set to continue.
Donohue was operating VAR from Stockley Park for the early kick-off on Saturday with a seriously controversial finish to end the game.
Taking to social media after the game, journalist Duncan Castles has suggested there was a major failing during the check.
‘VAR strikes again. Recommends on-field review of Everton’s late penalty – then fails to show Andy Madley footage from this angle where Matthijs de Ligt can be seen pulling Ashley Young’s shirt,’ he said.
‘Instructs the referee to concentrate on Harry Maguire’s later and gentler shirt pull.’
Everton fans will be furious with the way their side allowed the game to slip away from them after dominating most of the game.
Even Rio Ferdinand was shocked the penalty was not given for Everton after noticing the pull of the shirt from Matthijs de Ligt.

What Premier League said about Everton’s penalty decision
Moyes will not have been impressed by the decision which cost his side an opportunity at collecting another three points.
Everton now sit just one point ahead of Manchester United in what will now feel like a huge opportunity missed.
Following the decision, the Premier League released an official statement on Madley’s decision to overturn the penalty after consulting the monitor.
‘VAR checked the referee’s call of penalty to Everton for a challenge by Maguire on Young and deemed that no foul had been committed and recommended an on-field review,’ read the official statement.
‘The referee overturned the original decision and play restarted with a drop ball.’
