It’s so obvious why Everton failed to qualify for Europe and this damning stat shows it

Everton’s season has completely collapsed at the business end of it.

Heading into the March international break, Everton looked well-placed to qualify for European football.

However, since that 3-0 win over Chelsea, the Toffees have failed to win another game and now reside in 12th place.

David Moyes’ side were well beaten by Sunderland on Sunday afternoon, leading many to question whether the Scotsman is the right man to take this club forward.

How do you even sum that up? 😡

With that said, there is one glaring aspect of Moyes’ management which seriously needs to be addressed as it’s completely cost this club a top eight finish.

Everton used the least number of players across entire Premier League

The reason for Everton’s collapse in the race for Europe is quite simple: Moyes hasn’t used his squad.

It has emerged that the Toffees have used the least amount (22) of players across the entire Premier League.

Moyes has also made the fewest (123) substitutions in the division, and eight players have played 2500 minutes or more – the most of any side once again.

The 63-year-old has completely overplayed the old guard, and it’s become evident that many of them. understandably, have burned out at the most crucial stage of the campaign.

What would you say to Angus Kinnear after THAT loss to Sunderland? 😤

Something has to change… 😭

Iliman Ndiaye has been really poor recently, and some supporters have noticed that he looks absolutely shattered.

Moyes’ refusal to use the likes of Tyler Dibling and Adam Aznou, who were bought for a combined £50m, has really impacted results.

He is far too overdependent on experienced players, as he doesn’t seem to trust the newer recruits or younger players.

Even at the weekend, this issue was there for all to see. Regis Le Bris made four substitutions before Enzo Le Fee put the visitors in front, meanwhile, Moyes has only made two up to that point.

And, those two subs were only made after Sunderland equalised, so he was reactive rather than proactive.

The question now is, will Moyes change? That’s what the Friedkin Group must find out ahead of next season.
