Everton appear to have moved a step closer to signing Manchester City winger Jack Grealish this summer.

David Moyes is desperate to bring in a winger, with Everton currently short of options following Jack Harrison and Jesper Lindstrom’s departures.

Everton have explored a deal to sign Takefusa Kubo, however, Real Sociedad have no intention of sanctioning a sale below his lofty £52m release clause.

Omari Hutchinson is also on Moyes’ radar, but Ipswich Town manager Kieran McKenna is confident of retaining his signature.

Now, there has been a fresh development on Everton’s pursuit to sign Jack Grealish, and it’s good news.

Jack Grealish to Everton heading in right direction

Pep Guardiola has made Grealish surplus to requirements at Manchester City, having left him out of his Club World Cup squad earlier in the summer.

Guardiola is happy for the former Aston Villa talisman to leave, and Everton are well-placed to land his signature.

According to TEAMtalk, there is now ‘genuine hope’ the Toffees will be able to sign him on a season-long loan deal.

Moyes and his chiefs are ready to pay a substantial loan fee, and Grealish is open to joining the Merseysiders.

Manchester City holding up Jack Grealish deal

Manchester City are currently stalling on the Grealish deal as they’re keen to assess interest and see if any suitors are willing to sign him on a permanent transfer.

The Citizens outlaid £100m on his signature in 2021 and now value him at around £40m, but there haven’t been any takers so far.

His lofty £300,000-a-week wages have proved to be a stumbling block, too, so it seems a loan to Everton is the most likely outcome.

Tottenham Hotspur have also been credited with an interest in the 39-cap England international.
