Pressure is building on Sean Dyche through Everton’s inability to get results and he isn’t helping himself with his style of play either.

Sean Dyche faces a grueling couple of days as Everton manager with his future on thin ice.

The Friedkin Group is adamant they trust Dyche, but if results don’t go the Toffees way, for how much longer can they retain that trust in the Everton manager?

It’s a compelling debate of positives and negatives, but one negative thing is Dyche’s Everton set-up.

Jamie Carragher believes Everton play like a ‘1990s’ team

Speaking on Monday Night Football, Jamie Carragher sees Dyche’s Everton team as a ‘throwback’ and is unsure of Everton’s tactics.

“When you think of a Sean Dyche team, you think, they rely on set-pieces a lot. Everton are a throwback, it’s like watching a team from the 1990s.

“The Everton fans have always had respect rather than a love for Sean Dyche, in terms of keeping Everton up, and last season without the points deduction they would’ve finished above Brighton.

“This has been a real drop-off.”

Dyche must change Everton’s approach to regain support from fans

Dyche has tried to make something work at Everton that is fit for a team fighting to stay up every season, but it seems as though the fanbase has reached a breaking point.

The key element has been Everton’s lack of goals, Chris Sutton was shocked at Everton’s goalscoring stats having only scored 15 times in the Premier League this season.

Dyche will be hoping for attacking changes in January, but a lot relies on the future of Beto who hasn’t agreed a deal with Torino despite reports.

It’s more than just bringing in new attackers though, as the statistics speak for themselves and Dyche must change his set-up with Everton.

Everton’s statistics in the Premier League this season compared to other clubs (Ranked out of 20)

Big chances28 (20th)

It’s a long treacherous road ahead for the Toffees manager, and Dyche must act quickly as it seems his only saving grace is a change in tactics at Goodison Park.
