Everton fans are patiently waiting for developments around Youssef En-Nesyri.

In the last couple of days, it has been reported that the Toffees are interested in the Morocco striker.

Fabrizio Romano reported that Everton lodged a loan offer for En-Nesyri with an option to buy. But those claims have since been downplayed.

What will you think about TFG if Everton don’t address their needs in the winter window? 🤔

But by several accounts, there is certainly interest in the player.

It comes amid the struggles for Thierno Barry and Beto, who have managed just five Premier League goals between them so far this season.

En-Nesyri is a player David Moyes has long admired, so it could well be that the Scot is keen to push hard to finally sign him.

But Everton may not have it easy.

As is usually the case with transfer targets, there are several other clubs in for En-Nesyri.

The 28-year-old has a good goalscoring record in Turkey, scoring 38 goals in 77 appearances for Fenerbahce.

That has drawn him attention from the reigning champions of Serie A Napoli, who are looking to strengthen ahead of the second half of the season as they seek to defend their title.

How big of a risk is this for Everton? 😫

Currently, they’re third and six points off the top.

Sky Sports Italy report that Napoli are interested in En-Nesyri, and some publications in Turkey have claimed an offer has even been made.

But there is a small positive to this development from an Everton perspective.

And that is that Napoli would be required to sell one of two players – Noa Lang or Lorenzo Lucca – to make any deal happen.

Napoli interest in En-Nesyri far from ideal for Everton

It seems Everton – who are also keen on Callum Wilson – have a genuine interest in En-Nesyri this month, but there is work to be done to get him through the door.

It’s clearly been claimed that the UK climate could put En-Nesyri off a move to Everton.

And this report about interest from Napoli is far from ideal if it’s true.

There is a big lure with Napoli given their status as league champions. They’re a side who push for titles, and have a world-class manager in Antonio Conte.

But seemingly it may not be straightforward for them, having to sell a player first. So if Everton can act swiftly then maybe there will be a chance.
