Leon Osman made a valid point about Beto during Everton’s 4-2 defeat to Brentford on Sunday afternoon.
The Toffees‘ performance was disappointing from the first whistle until the last, but there were at least two positives.
Thierno Barry and Beto both found the back of the net in the second half despite struggling throughout the season.
However, Osman thinks that David Moyes will still be frustrated with Beto after his goal against Brentford.

This was a dismal performance from Everton…

Leon Osman makes Beto point during Brentford defeat
Beto made a significant “difference” at the Hill Dickinson Stadium, but not enough to forget about all of his underwhelming performances this season.
This prompted Osman’s co-commentator to ask him whether the striker’s second-half cameo would leave Moyes wondering why he does not produce more often.
“Definitely. He has been much better used as an impact sub,” the Everton legend said on Sky Sports.

“He hasn’t had the numbers. He just hasn’t delivered enough goals. We’ll see at the end of the game whether this was an important one.
“You can hear the difference in the crowd. You can see the difference in those Everton players.
“Sometimes, it just needs somebody like Beto to come on and put a tackle in, win the ball back, and get the crowd behind the team.”
If only Beto were to lift the Everton crowd more often, he might have a bigger future on Merseyside.

Beto’s Everton future remains in doubt
Beto’s goal against Brentford probably will not make a difference to his Everton career.
The Portuguese forward has already lost the faith of both Moyes and the Toffees supporters due to his persistent struggles.
Indeed, Everton would surely be willing to sell him in the January transfer window if they were to receive a nine-figure offer.
Moyes is desperate for the club to back him in the market, and a striker signing or two could spell the end of Beto’s time at the Hill Dickinson Stadium.
