It’s going to be a testing transfer window for Everton as players’ futures are in the balance.

Everton could see a few departures this January as David Moyes may have to make some decisive changes.

Someone who could see the exit door at Goodison Park is Beto who is receiving interest from Como.

This will be on Moyes’ mind as much as incomings, with Moyes expecting three signings to potentially make the move to Everton this winter.

However, a new player has emerged that is open to a potential move away from Everton, as Ben Jacobs gives an update.

Ben Jacobs claims Everton’s Joao Virginia is ‘exploring options’

Joao Virginia has now been at Everton since 2018 after his move from fellow Premier League side Arsenal.

That makes him one of the longest-serving players in the current squad, but has only made eight appearances after being second choice to Jordan Pickford.

However, his tenure could be coming to an end with Jacobs saying Virginia is ‘exploring options’, as his contract expires this summer.

Everton have the option to extend but the keeper is attracting interest from the Premier League and the Championship.

Sean Dyche hailed Virginia for ‘fantastic save’ against Crystal Palace

Virginia recently played for the first time in almost four months starting in Everton’s 2-0 win against Peterborough.

The keeper performed well and showed he could still be an asset to Everton if he decides to extend his contract.

The 25-year-old really proved himself in Everton’s 1-0 win against Crystal Palace in the FA Cup last season as Everton fans thought Virgina was ‘excellent’.

Virginia made a strong stop against Jeffrey Schlupp to keep the Toffees in the game as former manager Sean Dyche labelled it as a ‘fantastic save’ (1:39) after the game.

If this is to be Virginia’s last season at Everton he’s left his mark on the fanbase as a solid back-up goalkeeper.
