Everton will feel unfortunate not to have taken anything from their defeat against Manchester City.

The reality is David Moyes is now experiencing some serious issues in attack, with the Toffees struggling to find the back of the net.

It is becoming a familiar story for Everton who are seeing their hard work at the back undone by their forwards.

Jake O’Brien was praised by Tim Sherwood after his stunning block to thwart Man City’s Kevin De Bruyne.

Everton fans have just two more trips to make to Goodison Park before they make their move to Bramley-Moore Dock this summer.

It will take a lot to dampen the positive mood around the club currently, but what some Man City fans were singing certainly will have caused some frustration.

Man City fans mock Everton over 115 Premier League charges

Everton have suffered considerably from PSR over recent years, with their spending in the transfer windows limited as a result.

The Toffees were deducted points last season and Manchester City currently find themselves in the midst of a huge legal battle with the Premier League.

However, their travelling fans made light of the situation by mocking the charges which were inflicted on Everton last season.

“You cheating b——s, you know what you are,” they were heard singing. As well as: “One charge and you f—-d it up.”

This will only rub salt into the wound of the fans on Merseyside who are still waiting for a decision to come from City’s legal battle.

If they are found guilty, Premier League carnage could unfold when it comes to the potential points deductions that could be handed out.

It will be interesting to see what comes of their battle against the Premier League and the likes of Everton will certainly have a keen eye on how it pans out.

Everton are closing the gap under David Moyes

Fans may have been sent home from Goodison Park with nothing to show from the game, but there were some positives.

Everton performed as good as City and caused them some serious issues throughout the 90 minutes on Merseyside.

However, it was a game of fine margins and some errors cost the Blues.

The Friedkins are ready to back Moyes in the market this summer and that should help to close the gap on the top sides.

But considering their issues in attack and the injury to James Tarkowski, Everton must take the positives from their display.
