Everton’s summer transfer window has provided the Toffees with four new signings so far but there is still around three weeks for more work to be done.

Sean Dyche has to be delighted with the work that Kevin Thelwell has been able to produce at Goodison Park this summer.

The likes of Jake O’Brien and Jesper Lindstrom have hit the ground running on Merseyside with goals on their debuts against Preston North End.

But having struggled for the large part of the 2023/24 campaign, Everton would not turn down the opportunity to bring in some further recruits.

Everton have now seen Amadou Onana depart the club in a £50m deal for Aston Villa which has left a big hole in the middle of the park.

And the manager of one of the Blues’ believed targets has not hinted towards the player’s potential exit over the coming weeks.

Manager of Everton target hints player could leave this summer

The work done at Everton this summer has been impressive with Thelwell also able to battle against the PSR scares earlier in the summer.

The sales in June combined with the recent exit of Onana has helped to fund Everton’s summer which has seen some exciting additions brought in.

On top of the positive work done in the transfer window, John Textor has now lodged a new bid to take over at Everton.

With one week now until the Premier League season kicks off, the Blues will be looking at how they can bolster Dyche’s options until January.

Speaking on Friday, Manchester City boss Pep Guardiola has now spoken out on Kalvin Phillips‘ future at the Etihad.

“He [Phillips] is a central midfielder but, as I said many times, Kalvin likes to see all the game in front of him and when he is in the middle [of the pitch] surrounded by players he struggles a little bit but he helped us a lot in the last couple of games on tour,” Guardiola told the media.

“I should have seen that [he can play in defence] before. His confidence is back. He is here with us, and we will see what happens [with regard to his future].”

Everton eyeing loan deal for Kalvin Phillips

Thelwell has done some solid work in the transfer window for the Blues and Everton are already seeing the results with the likes of O’Brien.

But there is definitely still some room for improvement in that Everton side who are now believed to looking for a new midfielder.

Phillips is a player on Everton’s radar this summer with Thelwell weighing up the possibility of a loan move for the Manchester City player.

Given his lack of game time at City, the £45m Phillips is believed to be looking for a new adventure and Guardiola was hardly adamant that he wanted to keep the player.

Combined with the suggestion Phillips is Dyche’s top target at Everton, this could make for an interesting last few weeks of the window.
