Everton are going into the summer transfer window knowing a lot of work is going to be needed.
David Moyes will be well aware that this summer is going to present a whole list of new challenges for the Toffees.
Numerous players will be departing Everton over the coming months as their contracts come to an end on Merseyside.
There are some players who the club would still like to keep around, with Everton offering Idrissa Gana Gueye a new deal.
However, additions are going to be needed to bolster squad depth and quality ahead of the new season.
Everton are looking to add to their midfield, and the Friedkins are looking to make a really ambitious signing ahead of their move to Bramley-Moore Dock.

Sunderland manager reacts to Everton’s interest in Chris Rigg
Like many clubs across Europe and the Premier League, Everton are keen to sign Chris Rigg from Sunderland.
The young midfielder is one of Europe’s hottest young prospects, with the likes of Manchester United and Tottenham Hotspur also competing for his signature.
Speaking to the media recently, Sunderland boss Regis Le Bris has commented on the reported interest from the Toffees and other sides in Rigg.
“It is positive for the club and positive for Riggy as well because it shows that he did well so far,” he said.
“He is really well connected with Sunderland, so for me, his main focus will be with us, and I have no worries.”
Rigg has been valued at around £40m by Sunderland who are looking at similar transfers like Archie Gray’s move to Spurs last summer.
It would be a significant amount of money to outlay for a 17-year-old, but this is a player who is being tipped as the future of English football by some.

Chris Rigg is a ‘generational talent’ and wanted across Europe
The youngster will turn 18 by the time the summer transfer window opens, but he is already demanding a huge asking price.
Everton have history dealing with Sunderland having signed Jordan Pickford from the Black Cats previously, and he hasn’t done too bad for himself.
It is not just the 18-year-old, Everton are showing interest in Dan Neil who has been handed the Sunderland armband.
But Rigg is a player who is being tipped to go right to the very top.
Speaking to Everton News, TBR Football’s Chief Correspondent Graeme Bailey has shared his thoughts on how big of a talent Rigg could become.
“If Sunderland get promoted, could he stay? I wouldn’t rule it out, but Rigg’s a generational talent amongst that crop,” he said.
“He is special. He really is special. And people don’t realise how special he is.”
