Everton have certainly endured a season of two halves with David Moyes getting the club back on track from January onwards.

The Toffees are now all but safe from Premier League relegation having climbed up the table to 13th spot following the win on the weekend.

It has been some job from Moyes to turn the club around in the manner he has, with just two league defeats to his name since January.

Everton are in a much more positive space than they were just a matter of months ago and the Friedkins will be offering transfer hope this summer.

In what will be their first summer at the club, the Friedkins are ready to back Moyes in the market with a significant transfer budget.

Over the years, Everton have had to sell some of their top players just to balance the books, they will be hoping this is not the same this summer.

Theo Walcott was wowed by Anthony Gordon at Everton

Since leaving for Newcastle United, Anthony Gordon has proven a divisive figure among Everton fans.

The winger did bring in a big chunk of change, which helped balance the books against PSR, but he was clearly another talented player leaving the club.

Speaking to Premier League productions, Theo Walcott waxed lyrical about the former Everton winger from their time together at Finch Farm.

“Players like that, who can operate on both sides and keep you guessing at times. They can get the ball into the area and when you touch them go down and win penalties,” he said.

“He was a very smart player from a young age, I was with him at Everton and just knew straight away he’d take on information from the senior guys. He’s a player I feel can operate anywhere, he’s a player that can do everything.”

Frank Lampard previously warned Gordon about his temperament, which has proven to be one of the flaws in his game.

However, he is a player who is now being recognised as one of the best wingers by some in the Premier League.

Everton could have benefitted from Gordon’s production this season

Jack Harrison’s 2024/25 campaign has been hugely underwhelming with a real lack of goal threat coming off the right wing.

On the other hand, Iliman Ndiaye has been praised by Gary Neville after what he has seen from the Senegal international.

But the Toffees could really do with a more balanced attack, and Gordon could have offered just that.

Gordon has been hailed following his move to Newcastle, with the winger now becoming an England regular.

With the summer window on the horizon, Everton could really benefit from a player of Gordon’s quality to replace the likes of Harrison.
