Manchester United and Liverpool in for Jarrad Branthwaite as Everton hatch a plan of their own

Jarrad Branthwaite has had a tough time of things with injuries at Everton this season, but that hasn’t stopped the likes of Manchester United and Liverpool looking at him.

Sean Dyche has come in for some criticism from Everton fans for his treatment of Jarrad Branthwaite this season. The decision to start him on the bench against Southampton proved disastrous.

However, the recent injury Branthwaite picked up against West Ham may prove Dyche was right all along, as he may have had worries after rushing him back too soon for Crystal Palace earlier on in the season.

It’s gutting for Branthwaite, who was set to take to the international stage with England, as he’s now back at Finch Farm trying to recover from his pelvic issue.

Despite all the issues he’s had this season he has impressed in his limited performances, which appears to have caught the eyes of Liverpool and Manchester United.

Manchester United believe a deal is ‘alive’ for Jarrad Branthwaite as Everton line up a new deal

The Everton takeover depends on the Premier League owners and directors’ test which is up next for the Friedkin Group, though there is belief that it should go smoothly.

A new stadium and new ownership may just be enough to tempt Branthwaite into at least staying beyond the summer, as it’s not very often an opportunity like this arises.

However, it appears as if Manchester United will do whatever they can to sign the defender and Liverpool also have their eye on a potential move.

According to Give Me Sport, the indications out of Old Trafford are suggesting that a move to Manchester United is definitely still alive, whilst Liverpool could look to him as a Virgil van Dijk replacement.

It’s also stated that there is a chance Branthwaite could stay at Everton, with the Toffees keen to hand him a new deal. The Merseyside club want him to lead the club into their new stadium next season and the new ownership could hand him a pay-rise to keep him around.

Jarrad Branthwaite is ten times more important than Dominic Calvert-Lewin

Dominic Calvert-Lewin’s contract expires in the summer, and there have been numerous rumours about what might happen as we move closer to January.

Sean Dyche seems to think that Calvert-Lewin will be around beyond January, which could mean that the Toffees pass up on the opportunity to get any money for him.

He’s done very little to suggest he deserves a future at Everton, scoring just two goals so far this season and coming under criticism for offering very little.

Jarrad Branthwaite, who is valued at around £70 million, has only started twice and delivered on both occasions. Plus he has plenty of years ahead of him at the age of 22, so there’s that added incentive to keep him both for personal reasons at Everton, as well as boosting his price as years go by.
