Another baffling officiating decision has left Everton with another suspended player after Michael Keane’s red card against Wolves.
The Toffees were unable to bounce back from their loss at the weekend, with Everton only able to secure a point against the side rock bottom of the table.
David Moyes will rightfully face some questions about some of the decisions he made, but nowhere near as many as referee Tom Kirk.
Everton also saw Jack Grealish sent off for a second yellow card, but the main focus surrounds Keane’s straight red for a hair pull on Tolu Arokodare.
Former Everton player Leon Osman shared his verdict on Keane’s red card, with the home fans left vocally frustrated with the decision.
Now, former Premier League referee Mark Clattenburg has spoken to Everton News and shared his verdict on the sending off.

Mark Clattenburg’s verdict on Michael Keane’s Everton red card vs Wolves
After the game, James Tarkowski shared what Arokodare said about Keane’s red card, with the Wolves striker admitting he didn’t ask for a sending off.
The 32-year-old defender is now staring at a three-game suspension on the back of the red card.
Speaking to Everton News, Clattenburg shared his thoughts on what has proven an incredibly controversial decision.
What on earth is the referee thinking here? 😡
ANOTHER shocking decision against Everton!
“Michael Keane is sent off for pulling Tolu Arokodare’s hair when both were going up for a header. All we want is consistency and we saw a similar incident just over a year ago when Jack Stephen’s of Southampton pulled Marc Cucurella of Chelsea’s hair,” Clattenburg told Everton News.
“Keane was correctly sent off under the laws of the game and will now serve a three match suspension.”
Everton fans, players and coaches will argue that there was no malice in the incident on Keane’s part.
Keane has only just returned from injury as Moyes will now likely return Jake O’Brien to the central position for the upcoming three games.
Can Michael Keane play for Everton vs Sunderland in FA Cup?
The short answer is no. Keane will be unavailable for Everton’s FA Cup game at the weekend to face Sunderland.
Red cards shown in the Premier League do, indeed, carry over into the FA Cup.
Can you name the other three? 🤔
Still cannot believe Keane was sent of for this!
O’Brien was praised for his performance against Nottingham Forest as he partnered Tarkowski in the middle.
It would appear as if he is going to take up that position again at the weekend.
Everton will be expected to appeal the decision, but not many on Merseyside will hold their breath over the decision being turned over.
