Everton are exploring a number of deals ahead of the January transfer window, with a striker very much a top priority.
Thierno Barry and Beto have scored just two Premier League goals between them, so David Moyes is keen to add more firepower up top.
Moyes has looked at Troy Parrott and had scouts watching him in action for the Republic of Ireland during the last international break.
Artem Dovbyk has also been mooted with a move to Everton and that could be a very doable deal considering he’s at the Friedkin Group-owned AS Roma.
Now, a fresh rumour has emerged tipping the Toffees to sign a former Premier League striker.

Mauricio Pochettino is a huge admirer of Everton target Nicolas Jackson
It has been reported that Everton are interested in signing Nicolas Jackson, who is currently on loan at Bayern Munich from Chelsea.
Jackson hasn’t enjoyed a great loan spell at Bayern so far and won’t be activating their buy-option, leaving the Toffees with a chance to swoop in and land his signature next month.
Mauricio Pochettino was a really big admirer of the Senegal international when the pair worked together at Chelsea.
Who would you rather Everton sign, Artem Dovbyk or Nicolas Jackson?
Speaking back in 2023, Pochettino said: “We knew Nicolas Jackson’s quality when we signed him, we saw that before. It is not that we ask him to run and press the ball, he is quality in the way he recovers the ball, but he also can finish.”
He added: “Nicolas Jackson has top quality. I have no doubt that he can become one of the greatest strikers in the Premier League.”
Clearly, there is ability there, and Jackson has Premier League experience, so it’s an interesting option for Everton.
Everton should stay clear of Nicolas Jackson
Jackson certainly wouldn’t be a bad signing by any means, but it does feel a little underwhelming considering he was very profligate at Chelsea.
The 24-year-old isn’t the most polished centre-forward and would need to be developed further under Moyes.
Everton already have a project striker in Barry, so they should go for someone more experienced who’s already the finished article.
An Ivan Toney or a Richarlison would be ideal, although both of those transfers would require substantial financials.
Franculino Dju has also been eyed by Everton, but he’s only 21 and would need time to settle in, just like Barry.
