The Friedkin Group have plenty of big decisions to make ahead of the summer with contracts coming to an end for many around the club.

It has been suggested the Friedkins view next summer as a huge opportunity to make considerable changes at Everton.

Sitting just a matter of points above the drop zone, January could prove to be really important for Everton’s place in the top flight.

Going into the 2025/26 season in their new stadium as a Championship side could be a financial disaster for Everton.

But they may well have to fend off interest in players outside of those who are set to see their contracts come to an end in the summer.

Tottenham interested in Everton’s Jarrad Branthwaite

Everton are receiving interest in Jake O’Brien from clubs across the continent as he struggles for minutes under Dyche.

He may not be the only central defender at Goodison who could be headed for a January transfer.

According to the print edition of the Daily Mail on Sunday, Tottenham are considering a potential move for Jarrad Branthwaite.

Ange Postecoglou is suffering a real injury crisis in north London and the 22-year-old is one of the names on their shortlist.

However, he is not the only defender on their radar with former Everton defender Ben Godfrey being eyed by Spurs.

Branthwaite’s future is one which has been discussed on Merseyside as the youngster continues his development following a lengthy injury.

With some serious speculation surrounding the defender, Branthwaite may have shutdown a move to Real Madrid already.

Everton have big Branthwaite decision to make

In recent weeks, Everton’s defence has looked much improved with Branthwaite back at centre-back following his injury issues.

Jamie Carragher has praised Branthwaite as ‘excellent’ as he continues to make a name for himself in the top flight.

The result on Sunday did not reflect well on anyone at Goodison, but there are not many sides to keep more clean sheets than the Toffees this season.

Everton are concerned about PSR ahead of January and selling a player of Branthwaite’s quality could certainly ease those worries.

However, the defender still has a number of years remaining on his deal which leaves Everton in a strong position if they were to sell.

Branthwaite is valued at around £75m by Everton with the new owners valuing him higher than Farhad Moshiri did.
