Newcastle consider signing Everton target after internal talks at Hill Dickinson Stadium

With just under a month of the transfer window left, Everton might have to step up their pursuit of one target.

David Moyes knows plenty more additions are needed at Everton before the Premier League starts in eleven days time.

The signing of Chelsea’s Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall appears to be a strong option, but time will tell if the £28 million deal will be worth it.

Dewsbury-Hall was convinced by Everton’s new stadium, as The Friedkin Group can use this factor for any other potential arrivals.

Another player who was high up on the Toffees’ list could be persuaded, but Newcastle and Eddie Howe are getting in the way.

Everton discussed John McGinn transfer but now Newcastle are considering move

Moyes has a fond admiration for Aston Villa midfielder John McGinn.

The Scotsman has been linked with a move to Merseyside this window, as Everton internally discussed McGinn’s transfer.

It’s clear that the Villa star would be a welcome candidate at the Hill Dickinson Stadium, but the Daily Mail are now suggesting that Newcastle are considering a move for the 30-year-old, who is high on Howe’s list of targets.

Although the signing of Dewsbury-Hall may have stopped any pursuit for McGinn, Moyes wouldn’t want him jumping ship with the potential option to sign him for cheap, as his contract expires in 2027.

But the 26-year-old has got to take on the midfield role, and he’s got plenty to prove if he’s to reach McGinn’s standard.

Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall must prove to Everton he’s the better option than John McGinn

The Villa captain has a hard decision to make this summer, and the Everton manager might even still be keeping an eye on his situation.

There’s no denying that Dewsbury-Hall is a solid option to bring in, but surely if the option of the Scottish midfielder was on the table first, Moyes would have been all over it.

It’s now time for the former Chelsea man to prove his worth to the Toffees fans, as Dewsbury-Hall can show his inner Paul Scholes.

Moyes is a big fan of McGinn, but his deal has been put on standby with the hope that Everton’s new midfielder shines.
