Everton’s European hopes all but ended against Crystal Palace on Sunday afternoon.

Everton were held to a 2-2 draw at Selhurst Park, leaving them four points adrift of the top seven with just two Premier League games remaining.

Toffees fans were very critical of Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall, who has been a little bit off the pace in recent weeks.

Which Everton player frustrated you the most against Crystal Palace? 😬

There was another Everton star who had a game to forget in South London as he was so wasteful in possession of the ball.

Jake O’Brien gave the ball away 15 times vs Crystal Palace

Jake O’Brien has been solid since moving from centre-back to right-back, but ultimately, it’s not his position.

That has been evident in several matches this season and certainly against Palace, as he massively struggled to progress the ball forward.

According to Sofascore’s statistics, the 24-year-old gave the ball away a whopping 15 times, misplacing seven of his passes.

O’Brien also failed to complete one dribble, so it’s quite clear how limited he is at attacking and providing a threat down the flank.

Everton are expected to sign a right-back this summer, with Genk’s Zakaria El Ouahdi linked to the Hill Dickinson Stadium.

El Ouahdi has netted 12 goals whilst laying on four assists in a wing-back role for the Belgian giants this term.

That shows the type of direction Moyes wants to go in next season, with more attack-minded fullbacks helping to take some of the weight off the wide players to deliver.
