Orel Mangala has been one of the bright sparks at Everton in recent games, and now he’s revealed what Sean Dyche has been asking of him in midfield.
Sean Dyche has rotated his midfield around so far this season at Everton, which has been influenced by a number of injuries as well as form.
Orel Mangala and Idrissa Gana Gueye have formed a solid partnership in midfield in recent games, which even forced Abdoulaye Doucoure to start in an advanced role.
It’s been claimed that Everton want to sign Mangala when his loan deal expires, and that could be helped by the terrible financial situation Lyon currently find themselves in.
Interestingly, he’s been speaking ahead of the Brentford clash and revealed what Sean Dyche has been asking of him during this upturn of form.
Orel Mangala reveals what Sean Dyche has asked of him at Everton
Orel Mangala has worked his way into Dyche’s plans over the last couple of games, starting both and impressing alongside Gueye.
Everton fans even said that Mangala was the shining light against Southampton.

In an interview with the Liverpool Echo, Mangala spoke about what Dyche has been demanding of him at Everton and the role he wants him to play.
“I’d say that I’m someone who likes to defend and attack, so I’m more like a box-to-box player. I think my role is just to bring me game to the team, to have a lot of touches and to win duels because if you do that in the Premier League and run a lot, then you have more chance to win the games, so that is what the manager has asked of me.”

Amadou Onana’s chat with Orel Mangala before he joined Everton
Amadou Onana and Mangala are close friends from their time on the international stage with Belgium, so it was only right that the current Everton midfielder asked the Aston Villa man about his time at the club.
Despite some Everton fans having a slightly negative outlook on Onana, he actually told Mangala all good things about his time at Goodison Park.
“I spoke to Amadou (Onana) a few days before coming here and he told me good things about Everton. I already knew that Everton is a big club, so I had a good feeling about it.
“He’s a good guy and before he signed for Everton, he also spoke to me. I know that he enjoyed his time here and he spoke about the fans, the club and how everything was good.”
