Everton’s summer business has been really hit-and-miss so far.
The Toffees made seven acquisitions to their squad during the summer transfer window and they’ve all had varying degrees of success.
Iliman Ndiaye has been really impressive following his £15m switch from Marseille whilst the likes of Jake O’Brien, Jesper Lindstrom and Tim Iroegbunam are still finding their way in new surroundings.
Orel Mangala finds himself somewhere in between that as he appears to be making really strong strides in recent weeks.
So much so, that Everton fans hailed Mangala following the bruising 1-0 defeat to Southampton earlier this month.
That said, it’s just emerged what Everton are planning to do with Mangala when his season-long loan deal with Lyon expires.

Everton plan to sign Orel Mangala on a permanent deal
According to Foot Mercato, Everton have plans to keep Orel Mangala beyond this season after his impressive performances of late.
The Toffees don’t have an option or obligation to buy the Belgium international, though, so they’ll have to negotiate a fee with Lyon next summer.
However, that could work in their favour as the financial watchdog of the French football DNCG have confirmed they will be relegated to Ligue 2 next season.
And, they won’t be able to make any new signings until their financial situation is resolved, so they will be forced to sell assets.
As such, Everton believe they can take advantage of their situation and sign Mangala for a significantly discounted fee.
Everton should try to sign Mangala for less than £10m
Lyon signed Mangala for a fee believed to be in the region of £15m and in truth, his stock has probably increased since then.
Transfermarkt value the 26-year-old at £16.7m, so if Everton can secure his signature for below £10m, they’d be getting an absolute bargain.
Though, The Toffees need to be aware of potential competition, particularly if he continues to put in good performances.
