Everton saw a big point against Manchester City slide away in the final minutes of the game at Goodison Park.

David Moyes will be pleased with the performance his side put on, though.

For 84 minutes, Everton were solid at the back after keeping the reigning champions at bay.

The deadlock was found, however, after James Tarkowski was withdrawn through injury during the second half.

Man City boss Pep Guardiola hailed Moyes for what he has been able to do since returning to Goodison in January.

And the Spaniard kept the compliments flowing after full-time on Saturday as he shared his delight in what he side were able to achieve.

Pep Guardiola so impressed by something Everton did vs Man City

Jake O’Brien was praised for his Everton showing against City as he prevented a certain goal by Kevin De Bruyne.

But the Blues were unable to pose much of a threat at the other end.

Despite this, Guardiola said there is no side in the Premier League that is better than Everton when it comes to set pieces.

“Stefan [Ortega] saved the balls that he needed to save. From set pieces, they are the best, they’re almost unstoppable!” Guardiola told BBC Sport.

“The run Everton are on… the results they’ve got against Nottingham Forest away, Liverpool could not win here, Arsenal could not win here. So, what they do is magnificent.”

This is big praise for the Toffees, but not something that all fans will agree with.

Everton fans have slammed their set pieces following the appointment of Charlie Adam as their set piece coach.

Even Moyes has slammed Everton’s set pieces in recent weeks, but it seemed the opposition struggled to deal with them at Goodison.

The City boss doubled down on his praise of Everton’s set pieces in another interview as he said how much better they were than his side.

“It was hard in the set pieces, especially. We controlled the game really well. Everton are coming here like Crystal Palace last week with top, top form,” he said.

“We controlled the game very well except set pieces, they are much better than us.”
