Predicted Everton XI vs Peterborough as Sean Dyche unleashes teenage wonderkid with big future

Everton return to action this evening as they take on Peterborough United in the third round of the FA Cup.

Everton are in desperate need of a win to boost morale after a run of one win in 11 games, which has left Sean Dyche’s future under major scrutiny.

In fact, Graham Potter was under consideration to replace Dyche earlier this week, but talks haven’t progressed.

The former Chelsea boss has now signed for Premier League rivals West Ham United, who sacked Julen Lopetegui.

It seems Dyche will be given the chance to turn things around, though, any slip-up tonight could be costly.

So for that reason, he won’t want to take any chances and is expected to field a strong side, with potentially just one academy star featuring.

Everton team news ahead of Peterborough United clash

Dominic Calvert-Lewin has been ruled out of the clash with an ankle injury whilst Youssef Chermiti is also set for a period on the sidelines.

Dyche confirmed that Broja is a doubt, too, although he is optimistic about having him available.

“Armando has a chance, he’s settled down a bit today, been out on the grass and we’ll have to see how that reacts,” the Everton boss said.

McNeil won’t make it and long-term absentees James Garner and Tim Iroegbunam remain unavailable.

Everton predicted XI as Harrison Armstrong starts

Joao Virginia is likely to replace Jordan Pickford between the sticks and there could be a couple of changes to the back four.

Ashley Young retains his place as he may get the opportunity to fulfil his dream and play against his son Tyler.

Jake O’Brien steps in to form a centre-back partnership with Michael Keane whilst Vitaly Myokolenko slots in at left-back.

Moving into midfield, teenage wonderkid Harrison Armstrong could get a start with Orel Mangala and Idrissa Gueye beside him.

Dyche thinks Armstrong has a ‘big future’ at Everton, so he’s probably the most likely academy star to feature.

Jack Harrison and Iliman Ndiaye start on the flanks with Beto leading the line.
