The Premier League are now witnessing some of the repercussions of their verdict on Everton and Burnley’s compensation hearing.
Everton have been ordered to pay Burnley £40m in damages for their PSR breaches, which were originally disciplined during the 2023/24 season.
It is Everton who are being punished yet again, whilst other clubs like Manchester City are yet to learn their fate over the infamous 115 charges.
How are we being punished again by the Premier League? 😡
Everton ordered to pay Burnley £40m in compensation…
The Premier League may well regret their decision as more appeals could be in the works as Leeds United plot their own against Leicester City.

Premier League’s verdict against Everton has now opened a can of worms
Everton’s summer spending won’t be affected by the Burnley verdict, which will come as hugely positive news to the supporters on Merseyside.
However, this will not lessen the frustration of those supporters, who will be all too aware of the dangerous precedent being set by the Premier League.
It has been suggested by The Times that Leeds United are now considering their own legal action against Leicester City.
Which Everton player are you expecting to have the best World Cup? 🏆
As a result of Leicester beating Leeds to automatic promotion to the Premier League in the 2023/24 campaign, legal action is being considered by the Whites.
Leeds failed to earn promotion that season, with Leicester having since been deducted points for PSR breaches in the lead up to that campaign.
This just goes to show the mess the Premier League have created through their verdict just a matter of days ago against the Toffees.
Everton have appealed the Burnley compensation verdict, which is not expected to be heard until sometime next year.
The verdict took many by surprise, with the huge figure being awarded to Burnley clearly pricking the ears of clubs across the country.
It is only natural that other clubs will now be considering their own options in an attempt to bring in an unexpected cash windfall.
