Everton will require a big summer transfer window with numerous players set to leave the club.

David Moyes will finally get the opportunity to put his own stamp on the squad at Goodison Park in the Friedkins’ first summer window.

Newly-appointed managers often look to some of their previously-managed players in their first windows in charge.

Everton have been able to turn things around under the 61-year-old, with the club now looking ahead to their new stadium move.

The Friedkins are ready to back Moyes in the transfer window as they are well aware the club need a squad worthy of playing in their new home.

Although the window does not open for over a month still, Everton have been given a promising sign that one of their targets will be on the move this summer.

West Ham green light Everton move for Tomas Soucek

Ahead of the window, Everton are showing interest in Tomas Soucek, with Moyes keen to reunite with the Czech midfielder.

The 27-year-old still has two years left on his deal in east London, but the Hammers are expecting to see their former manager come in for his 2020 signing.

According to GiveMeSport, West Ham are now showing signs they will be open to offers for the Czech international when the window opens.

It is claimed the midfielder’s importance around the club has decreased since Graham Potter took charge in January.

Moyes is said to be looking to bring in players he can trust this summer, and Soucek perfectly fits that bill.

Everton have identified four areas of their squad to address in the summer transfer window, with Moyes already holding transfer meetings.

A player like Soucek could prove a smart addition considering Everton are likely going to have numerous players departing the club at the end of their deals.

What David Moyes has said about Tomas Soucek

Everton could be set to lose Abdoulaye Doucoure this summer as his contract situation remains unresolved.

If the Mali midfielder is to leave – after years on Merseyside – Moyes is going to need to replace him with someone he can rely on.

Soucek could well be that player having excelled under the 61-year-old during their time together in London.

Moyes has certainly sung his praises in the past from when he signed him at the London Stadium.

“He’s done brilliant since he’s come to the country. I think it was this time last year when we signed him, I think to come and hit the ground running in the Premier League is really difficult,” Moyes said in 2021.

“But he’s not only done that, he’s made a big difference with his performances, with the type of lad he is, with his honesty. He’s been great for us and he can score goals.”
