The Premier League KMI panel have now decided Everton were fortunate not to concede a penalty against Crystal Palace.

James Garner was the alleged offender as the Everton midfielder is deemed to have pushed Jorgen Strand Larsen inside the box.

The Toffees returned to Merseyside with just a point from that game at Selhurst Park having taken the lead twice in south London.

Where will Everton be in the table by 6pm on Sunday afternoon? 🥲

The Blues could finish as low as 14th… 😫

David Moyes has been left furious with the KMI panel in recent weeks and this will not come as welcome news to the 63-year-old.

Premier League KMI panel’s verdict on Crystal Palace vs Everton penalty decision

Everton were informed they should have had a penalty against Man City following Bernardo Silva’s grappling of Merlin Rohl at the Hill Dickinson Stadium.

Plenty of decisions have gone against the Toffees this season, but there is now a sense that they may have got away with one at Selhurst Park.

BBC Sport’s Dale Johnson has revealed the KMI panel’s 3:2 verdict of the on-field decision against Garner being incorrect.

The panel also voted 5:0 towards VAR making the incorrect decision, claiming Garner “placed both hands on Strand Larsen as he shifted the ball. Two panellists felt that Garner made no clear attempt to play the ball.”

Everton may now finally feel they have had the rub of the green from the officials, who have, on the whole, had a season to forget.

Moyes blamed some poor decisions during Friday’s press conference as a contributing factor in Everton’s underwhelming end to the campaign.

Michael Oliver will officiate Tottenham vs Everton at the weekend, with so much on the line for the north London side, who are battling for their top flight status.
