Everton are going to lose some of their players as free agents this summer.

David Moyes will be looking to bring in his own signings over the summer transfer window following a quiet January.

The Friedkins are ready to invest in Everton’s squad when the market opens after years of struggles under Farhad Moshiri.

A considerable number of players could well be needed at Everton over the summer given their current contract situation.

Abdoulaye Doucoure has threatened to leave Everton as he waits on a decision over his future.

And he is not alone as there have been no new contracts announced by the Toffees with just a matter of weeks remaining.

Although Everton could lose some players to the free agents market, there is no reason they could not benefit from it and sign some players set to be without a club.

Everton target to be released by Premier League club

Moyes is keen to sign a new full-back this summer and that has been the case since he returned back in January.

One of those players who has been identified as an Everton transfer target is Vladimir Coufal.

On Friday, the Hammers announced Coufal would be one of the players they would be allowing to walk at the end of the season as their contracts expire.

“Aaron [Cresswell], Lukasz [Fabianski], Vladimir and Danny [Ings] have been a pleasure to work with in my time here so far – all brilliant professionals on and off the pitch, with fantastic experience in the Premier League, and clearly loved and admired by their team-mates and everyone here at the Club,” said Graham Potter on Friday.

It was expected, but Everton have now got the go-ahead to land an experienced free agent to bolster the squad depth for next season.

Coufal has already mooted a move to Everton with the possibility of playing under Moyes once again.

By no means would this be a signing that would excite the Everton fanbase, but it could prove a smart move financially for the Friedkins.

What David Moyes has said about Vladimir Coufal

Everton are going to need to add a new right-back to their squad this summer.

Seamus Coleman is set to leave Everton as his contract comes to an end and the same is expected for Ashley Young.

Jake O’Brien has nailed down the spot as the starting right-back since Moyes was appointed earlier this year, but there is a need for good backup.

And Coufal is a player the Everton boss knows very well.

Speaking a few years ago about the Czech international, Moyes previously hailed the right-back as one of West Ham’s top players.

”I thought he was our best player tonight, I thought he played really well,” he said after playing Crystal Palace.

“He’s got an assist but more importantly, he knew he’d have a really tough job up against [Wilfried] Zaha and I thought he did it well.”
