Rangers fans have their say on Sean Dyche becoming their new manager after Everton exit

Rangers fans have been discussing former Everton manager Sean Dyche on social media, after Philippe Clement was sacked.

Sean Dyche has been out of work since parting ways with Everton on January 9, which was the day of the club’s FA Cup third round match with Peterborough United.

Dyche told The Friedkin Group he’d taken Everton as far as he could, and the new owners therefore had to act.

They were prepared to give Dyche time at Goodison Park, and were keen to avoid making a managerial change early on.

But Dyche’s stance forced the owners into a decision, and the appointment of David Moyes as his successor has proven a masterstroke.

If anything, Moyes’ work so far has caused Dyche’s reputation to suffer further.

But that has not stopped his name from being linked with other jobs.

There has been mention of Dyche potentially being the next Rangers manager, with the Scottish giants having just sacked Philippe Clement.

Rangers are 13 points behind rivals Celtic and are out of the Scottish Cup.

With Dyche’s name being thrown around at the moment, some fans have taken to social media to give their opinion.

Derby Country fans recently demanded their club to move for Dyche after Paul Warne was sacked.

And some Leicester City fans also called for Dyche to replace under-fire Ruud van Nistelrooy.

Now, Rangers fans have been talking about Dyche – who The Scottish Times says has been lined recently – amid the speculation he could pitch up at Ibrox.

But unlike Derby and Leicester fans, many are not so keen on the idea.

Rangers now confirm who’s taking over from Philippe Clement sacking

Earlier, Rangers issued a statement regarding who’ll now be in the dugout after Clement was sacked.

Luckily for the above Rangers fans, that man will not be Sean Dyche.

The club have today decided to name their Hall of Fame member and former club captain Barry Ferguson as their head coach until the end of the season. He will be supported by coaches Issame Charai, Neil McCann, Billy Dodds and Allan McGregor.

But the club say they will be appointing a ‘new, permanent manager’ in the summer.

That may lead to more speculation about Dyche in the coming weeks and months, and who knows if the ex-Everton boss would welcome an approach if one was made.

Certainly, Dyche is likely to want to rebuild his reputation and may see Rangers as the right next challenge for him.
