Sam Allardyce speaks for all Everton fans with Anthony Gordon rant

Former Everton manager Sam Allardyce has warned Newcastle United over Anthony Gordon’s developing transfer saga.

It was only a few years ago when Gordon decided he’d had enough on Merseyside and wanted to move on.

Newcastle are open to selling Gordon this summer, with the winger already laying the groundwork for his Tyneside departure.

Which of these players do you want to see Everton SIGN in 2026?

The following names have been suggested by fans on TalkingPoints…

This is something that Everton supporters will be all too familiar with from back in 2023, and Allardyce has taken aim at the Englishman over his conduct.

Sam Allardyce slams Anthony Gordon following Everton exit

Fortunately for the Blues, Kevin Thelwell included a sell-on clause for Everton in Gordon’s contract with Newcastle.

Everton will receive 15 per cent of the profit made on Gordon, if he is to be sold this summer.

“Well, that’d be another one for Newcastle where he throws the tools down. Because he did it at Everton, didn’t he?” Allardyce said on the No Tippy Tappy Football podcast.

Does Kevin Thelwell deserve more credit for this? 👏

“To get away he threw in the towel and then you know went in a sulky huff, you know what I mean?”

An exit from Newcastle is looking more and more likely as the days go on.

It is believed that Gordon’s agent met with Barcelona earlier this week as the relevant parties discussed a prospective move to the Camp Nou ahead of the summer.

Barca are not the only European powerhouse in position to make a move for Gordon, though.

Bayern Munich have made Gordon their top target for the summer despite the 25-year-old only managing to return six goals in the Premier League this season.

Regardless, this makes for excellent viewing if you are an Everton supporter – or even board member – as a big-money move looks set to provide the Blues with a healthy windfall.
