The Friedkin Group have provided Everton with a fresh start following years of frustration under Farhad Moshiri.

Sean Dyche has now been sacked as the manager at Everton with David Moyes coming in as his replacement.

Everton’s first game under the 60-year-old will take place at Goodison Park on Wednesday night as Moyes will be able to reunite with the Everton fans.

Since taking over, Moyes has highlighted the damage done by Moshiri and Dyche at Everton.

The Toffees find themselves going into the game against Villa sitting just above the relegation zone with just a one-point cushion.

The man who has put the club in that position, Dyche, has now spoken for the first time since his sacking.

Sean Dyche’s first words after Everton sacking

Everton did not thank Dyche for his service when he was sacked last week in what was a very short exit statement.

Speaking through the League Managers’ Association, Dyche has spoken about the difficulty of his situation at Everton.

“It was an honour to manage Everton, a football club with a significant heritage and an enormous following in Liverpool and all over the world, through one of its toughest periods in its history,” said Dyche.

“Despite the challenges we faced, I wanted to ensure that the club’s narrative was focused on the positive direction it will take in the future and that the team could focus on competing in the Premier League in the present.”

There will be a number of players who will be delighted to see the back of the 53-year-old with Jake O’Brien eyeing a fresh start under Moyes.

His exit will have fans back to hoping for a strong end to the season with an interesting team selection awaiting Moyes on Wednesday night.

Dyche’s message to David Moyes

Dyche did offer a message to Moyes and the people he has left behind at Finch Farm.

“The right time has come to leave the club, with the team in good shape. David is a manager who I have great respect for and I believe he and his staff will help to push the club forward again and build on the stable footing we have implemented in the past two years,” he said.

“I wish everyone well going forwards including the new owners, who I hope will take the club to the next level and deliver the success which every Evertonian wants.”

Dyche’s time at Everton will be viewed differently by different people across the game, with the 53-year-old enduring struggles when it came to the PSR troubles suffered by the club.

However, the results this season simply were not good enough with the Toffees finding themselves in yet another relegation battle.

Moyes will be hoping to turn things around, but the fan favourite does have two difficult first games coming up.
