Sean Dyche must make big Everton change vs Aston Villa and start ‘unbelievable’ summer signing

Everton fans will be looking for a big improvement on Saturday in their trip to Aston Villa as they search for their first point of the season.

It has been a seriously underwhelming start to the campaign for Everton who have lost all three of their games.

There has been very little to cheer about with Sean Dyche‘s side leaving a lot to be desired in their opening games.

And in each of those games there has been a major issue in defence with at least three goals conceded in each of those games.

Brighton & Hove Albion put three past the, Tottenham Hotspur put four past Jordan Pickford and then Bournemouth also netted three times.

With Dyche under serious scrutiny from the Everton fans, surely the Blues’ boss is looking to make a change at the back for the trip to Villa Park.

Sean Dyche needs to make Everton defensive change

It is believed Farhad Moshiri has provided Dyche with his full backing despite the recent results in the early stages of the season.

However, Moshiri will be wanting to see those results improve over the coming weeks with Everton sat rock bottom of the table.

Going off the opening three games, there is a lot to be improved and solidifying the back line is certainly a glaring area for improvement.

No side in the Premier League has conceded more goals (10) than Everton this season.

Despite spending £17m on Lyon centre-back Jake O’Brien over the summer, the Ireland international is still awaiting his first start of the season.

Jake O’Brien could transform this Everton defence

Although Michael Keane managed to find the back of the net in the game against Bournemouth last time out, it has to be questioned whether the veteran should be starting ahead of the ‘unbelievable‘ new signing.

James Tarkowski has already shared his excitement for O’Brien after joining Everton over the summer.

In his opening two Everton displays over pre-season, O’Brien was able to find the back of the net as he left one journalist stunned.

O’Brien’s only minutes came in the Carabao Cup victory over Doncaster Rovers last month in what was Everton’s only win of the season.

Here is a roundup of his display in the cup…

With no minutes to his name in the Premier League, perhaps it is not time for Dyche to give O’Brien the nod on Saturday evening.
