David Moyes has completely changed Everton’s fortunes since returning to the club at the turn of the year.
Sean Dyche’s sacking was met with criticism by some members of the media and pundits like Alan Shearer weren’t convinced by the David Moyes appointment.
But David Moyes has proven his doubters wrong as he’s secured Premier League safety with ease, residing a whopping 17 points clear of the drop zone.

Jordan Pickford really enjoys playing under Moyes and it’s clear the rest of the dressing room feel the same.
But, the upturn in form hasn’t just been down to Moyes, as former player Steven Naismith hails the Everton boss’ sidekick.

Steven Naismith heaps praise on David Moyes’ assistant manager Leighton Baines
Steven Naismith, speaking to Everton’s club website, has hailed Moyes’ assistant Leighton Baines and isn’t surprised at how well he’s done since hanging up the boots.
“Bainesy is somebody who wants to make sure he’s making the right choice, and then when he’s done it, you do see his knowledge and his understanding,” Naismith explained.
“I think the way he sees the game is different, and the way he teaches it. Even when I was playing with him, the way he would describe different situations, he delivered it in a different, really clear way.
“I know, 100 per cent, he will have helped the Academy players that he was dealing with, and now that he’s stepped up, it will be the same for the senior players as well because he’s very good.”
Naismith says Baines is playing key role in restoring the culture at Everton
Naismith also added that he believes Baines has been able to restore the Everton culture, which was lost in previous years.
“The biggest thing I noticed when I came to the club was what it means to play with Everton, what’s accepted, what’s not,” the 38-year-old said.
“I think it has been lost a bit over the years. From having contact with a lot of people at the club over the years, Baines and Seamus [Coleman] have been the two constants, but I think since [Moyes] came back, you can see how much influence he wants to put on that togetherness, the understanding, the people who have got Everton at heart.
“He wants them in and about the Club, and I think it’s so valuable.”
Glowing praise from Baines’ former teammate, and it’ll certainly be music to the ears of Everton supporters.
