David Moyes has completely turned Everton’s season around since returning to the club at the start of the year.

Many questioned the decision to sack Sean Dyche and Alan Shearer wasn’t convinced about Moyes returning to Goodison Park.

But, it’s turned out to be an inspired decision by the Friedkin Group, with Everton now mathematically safe from relegation.

Moyes has changed the culture around Finch Farm, with the emphasis very much on creating a community feel.

And, Jordan Pickford has now made an admission about the Scotsman which only bodes well for the future of the club.

Jordan Pickford says David Moyes sets really high standards at Everton

Since returning to the club, Moyes’ side have picked up the seventh most points in the entire division, which is a far cry from what Dyche was able to get out of this group of players.

The Scotsman has big ambitions for the Toffees and Pickford has revealed that his standards are really high.

Speaking to Everton’s website, the England number one said: “The gaffer set the standards high and we demand that from each other ourselves.

“On the training pitch, you want to win every day in training and the manager drives that. Then it’s about us driving ourselves on as well.

“It filters through the team, that’s what we want. It’s good to be disappointed against someone like City because that’s the standards we set now.”

Everton could soon be challenging for Europe

Given the wealth of the Friedkin’s and how ambitious Moyes is, Everton could genuinely be challenging for Europe very soon.

Next season might be too early to think about pushing for a top-six finish, however, James Garner reckons Everton should aim to finish in the top 10.

The Toffees are looking at signing players like Liam Delap and Rayan Cherki, so that indicates the level of talent they’re hoping to attract to the football club.

Plus, with PSR restrictions set to be lifted, there should be room to bring in at least five or six new recruits.
