Some Everton fans may well be starting to ramp up the pressure on David Moyes following just one win in their last five games.

A huge game on Wednesday now awaits Everton as they face a Wolves side who remain rock bottom of the Premier League table.

Despite their dreadful season, Moyes will be wary of Rob Edwards’ side who picked up their first win of the campaign at the weekend.

Moyes was questioned by Everton fans after the loss to Brentford as a result of his decision to uproot Jake O’Brien from centre-back for Michael Keane.

There is no doubting the positive work the 62-year-old has carried out since he made his return to the club almost one year ago.

Despite some of the concerns, Stuart Pearce thinks Moyes does something that even the likes of Pep Guardiola and Sir Alex Ferguson didn’t.

There may even be some concerns inside the camp as Adam Aznou issued his frustrations at Everton over social media due to his lack of game time.

If there is one man who knows the club better than most it is Moyes and he has the backing of those in the game to really push Everton on.

Speaking on the Iron Cast podcast, Pearce waxed lyrical about just how hard Moyes works behind the scenes.

Let us know your honest thoughts on this… 🫣

“If I saw a good player that I thought would help him, sometimes I’d ring him and say, have a look at this one or whatever, and I’d see him around,” said Pearce.

“He has got the biggest work ethic of any manager that’s ever managed in the Premier League. He’s incredible.

“Works 25 hours a day. Incredible.”

Moyes was not pleased with Everton’s display against Brentford as he admitted, defensively, his side were nowhere near good enough on the day.

There is no doubting that Moyes has seen his squad decimated in recent weeks, but anything other than a win against Wolves may raise some serious questions on Merseyside.

Everton cannot afford Wolves slip up

Moyes is pushing Everton for a European finish this season after some signs of improvement over recent months.

The loss to Brentford will make a lot of fans question those ambitions, but the reality is a sub-par standard in the Premier League is leaving the door open.

Let’s hear those Everton vs Wolves score predictions! 👀

Everton's record vs Wolves

Everton fans may feel the club is slipping, and results do show that, but they still remain just three points off fifth place.

If the Blues can get some of their players back from injury and AFCON, then the narrative could very quickly return.

Regardless of injuries, there can be no excuses for anything other than a win against Wolves.
