The good people at The 1878s are appealing for Everton fans attending Sunday’s game to show their appreciation for Seamus Coleman.

For the second year in a row, Everton supporters are set for an emotional goodbye in the final home game of the season.

After waving farewell to Goodison Park 12 months ago, Everton fans will now witness Coleman’s final home game as a player.

Coleman admitted Everton have offered him another role at the club, but The 1878s are wanting to send the 37-year-old off in style on Sunday.

The 1878s’ Seamus Coleman tribute appeal to Everton supporters

Everton players have shared their tributes to Coleman, but Sunday’s game against Sunderland will allow the fans to share their gratitude.

The final home game of the season could see Coleman make a rare appearance on the pitch following a difficult campaign for the defender.

Taking to social media platform X, The 1878s have asked for Everton supporters to collectively sing the Irishman’s song in the 60th minute.

“On Sunday during our last home game of the season we are asking everyone attending the game to stand up on the 60th minute and sing Seamus Coleman’s song. A boss captain, a boss Evertonian and a boss person,” the statement read.

“Enjoy your retirement Seamus.”

Sunday will mark the first season at the Hill Dickinson Stadium, which is a milestone in its own right.

The atmosphere already promises to be electric in what has become a rarity: a 3pm kick-off slot on Sunday afternoon

However, the volume levels will now have been turned up to 11 as the Blues prepare to bid farewell to a true Everton legend.
