Everton play host to Leeds United at the Hill Dickinson Stadium on Monday evening.

David Moyes’ side defeated Aston Villa last time out, so they head into this game in high spirits against a relegation-threatened side.

Although, Leeds have been in a good patch of form and Everton will be without Jack Grealish, who has sustained a stress fracture to his foot.

Iliman Ndiaye and Idrissa Gana Gueye are back from the African Cup of Nations, so that will be a huge boost.

With that said, here is the starting line-up Everton should pick tomorrow night.

David Moyes should pick this Everton XI vs Leeds United

Gueye and Ndiaye only returned to Finch Farm on Friday, so it remains to be seen whether they’ll be ready to start the game on Monday.

Moyes kept his cards close to his chest in the pre-match press conference: “They walked in the building about half an hour ago, so I can only tell you that I knocked a window at them and shouted out the window at them, but nothing else. I’ve not had a chance to greet them and congratulate them.”

Senegal’s last game was exactly a week ago, so by Monday’s game, the AFCON winners would’ve had eight days’ rest.

So, if they do pass the physical assessments, Moyes should throw them straight back into the starting line-up.

Ndiaye should come in for the injured Grealish on the left and Gueye next to James Garner in the middle, with Merlin Rohl dropping to the bench.

David Moyes provides injury update

Moyes gave a brief update on Jarrad Branthwaite, Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall and Carlos Alcaraz in his pre-Leeds presser.

“Jarrad Branthwaite and Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall are back training,” the Scotsman explained.

“Kiernan’s just back in. Charly Alcaraz is back in training. Jarrad is back in training. They’re certainly getting much closer to it, that’s for sure.”

Judging from that, it wouldn’t be surprising to see one of them back on the substitutes bench against Leeds.

If not, the Brighton game on the final day of January could be the comeback date for the aforementioned trio.
