Everton are still yet to make a signing in the January transfer window.
The Toffees are clearly in the market for reinforcements this month as they look to catapult themselves out of the relegation picture.
David Moyes’ side picked up a crucial 3-2 win against Tottenham Hotspur on Sunday afternoon, leaving them with a four-point gap on 18th-placed Ipswich Town.
Speaking after the game, Moyes made a clear transfer demand to the Friedkin Group almost in a plea not to be complacent.
Everton have been working on a deal to sign Ernest Nuamah for weeks and now a fresh development on that proposed transfer has just emerged.

Ernest Nuamah deal on hold
According to French outlet L’Equipe, Everton’s deal to sign Lyon winger Ernest Nuamah is now on hold.
That’s because Lyon and Botofogo owner John Textor is about to receive £27m for the sale of Luiz Henrique.
Henrique is on the verge of completing a switch from Botofogo to Zenit and because Lyon own his sporting rights, they’re entitled to the entire fee.
The sizeable cash injection into the French club is set to block Nuamah’s exit this winter and it’s been reported that Everton haven’t even made a bid either.
So, at this stage, Nuamah’s transfer to Everton is off.
Everton could turn to Baris Alper Yilmaz
It emerged last week that Everton are interested in signing Galatasaray winger Baris Alper Yilmaz, so they could now turn their attention to the Turkey international after the Nuamah deal collapses.
West Ham United are also keeping tabs on his situation and it’s thought a £25m bid could be enough to strike a deal.
The powerful wide player has already netted 11 goals this season and his potential signing would represent a real coup.
