Thomas Frank has just embarrassed Sean Dyche with one simple Everton comment

Brentford manager Thomas Frank will welcome Everton to west London on Wednesday evening.

The two sides have already met this season after playing out a goalless draw at Goodison Park back in late November.

There will, however, be a different manager in the Everton dugout for this meeting with David Moyes now at the helm.

Everton are jetting off for warm-weather training after the game in London.

But there is still a job to be done for the Toffees who will feel they left two points out on the pitch over the weekend following their draw against Manchester United.

Ahead of the game, Frank has praised one Everton player, in particular, which may not reflect too well on Sean Dyche.

Thomas Frank hails Everton defender Jake O’Brien

One player who has blossomed at Everton under Moyes has been Jake O’Brien with the defender finally getting a run in the side.

Prior to the Scot’s arrival, O’Brien had struggled to even earn himself cameo appearances off the bench.

Speaking ahead of the game, Frank has admitted the Ireland international is one of the players who has really stood out for him at Everton.

“The main reason, maybe, is the change of personnel,” said the Brentford manager.

“[Jake] O’Brien is playing right-back right now, [Jesper] Lindstrøm more regularly as a right winger. [James] Garner is playing in midfield – I think he’s done brilliantly, he’s been really, really good. And Beto up front.”

O’Brien slammed referee Andy Madley on the weekend which could well land him in hot water after criticising the official.

But it does not look like the Irishman will be missing from the side on Wednesday night after locking down the spot at right-back.

Sean Dyche error being pointed out again

Since being sacked, O’Brien has issued a number of digs at Dyche following his decision not to play the defender.

And it seems this could well be another moment where Dyche’s errors are being pointed out to the public.

Everton have taken off to another level under Moyes with the Toffees having the chance to go seven games in the Premier League unbeaten on Wednesday.

And it is apparent Moyes has been delighted with O’Brien’s performances after putting his trust in the youngster.
